Scheduling
Lessons are available at established times, Monday through Friday, as well as limited availability on weekend days.
Rates
The individual lesson rate is $20.00 for a 30 minute lesson. The student will pre-pay at the beginning of the month for that month, maintaining the same day and time on the schedule. In addition, there is a $15 deposit/registration fee required for each student per calendar year. The deposit/registration fee will secure the student’s opportunity to perform at approximately four recitals per calendar year.
Cancellations and Missed Lessons
The student must notify me at least 48 hours in advance if he/she intends on missing/canceling a lesson. If a lesson is missed and you have given the required notice, we can reschedule. If a lesson is missed without the required notice, the student will be charged the full price of the lesson and the lesson will not be rescheduled. If for some reason I must cancel or reschedule, you will receive a make up lesson.
Materials
I have a modest assortment of music books and sheet music. It’s always good to bring any music that you are currently working on whether it’s published music, original songs, mp3s, or cds. It is not the responsibility of the instructor to purchase music for the student. The instructor will suggest which music to purchase and where it can be purchased, but it is up to the student to follow through with the purchase of such music. If you play an instrument such as guitar or bass, and it’s your goal to be able to sing while you play, please bring your instrument with you. You will be expected to practice your exercises and music on a daily basis. In order to become a better musician, time, effort, energy, and practice are essential elements on the road to success. I do not believe that there is such a thing as a perfect performance, however I do strongly believe that perfect practice makes you better. We as musicians always have room for improvement, and there can always be places that need further development as we become great musicians. Practice the techniques that are taught during the lesson at least 30 minutes everyday so that you begin to receive the most from the music lessons that you as a student are investing in.
